Ten’s recent global growth has been recognised by being highly commended in the Management Today Business Heroes Awards in the Borderless Business Category.
Ten Lifestyle Concierge is a Borderless Business Hero because it balances the challenges involved in providing expert lifestyle concierge 24/7 in 22 languages across 145 countries. More than 50% of the requests it handles are for people outside the UK.
In the last 12 months, Ten has made huge strides forwards in terms of meeting and exceeding the requirements of its global membership base.
Just one year ago a new office was opened in San Francisco to help manage requests received from Americans or global travellers heading to the US. Within four months the office was fully-operational and profitable. In October 2010 Ten opened a further office in New York.
The company now has offices in London, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York and Maidenhead. Its lifestyle managers must take into account the cultural preferences of its 400,000 members and the best way to approach valuable supplier contacts in different countries and industries - no mean feat.
Ten is asked to handle everything from restaurant bookings, to accommodation requests, to emergencies such as lost medication or last minute transport arrangements. Even during the volcanic ash cloud, or the recent unrest in Egypt, Ten managed to get its members home safe and well.
