Ten Group COO pledges mentoring for entrepreneurs

Supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs – mentors pledge more than a thousand hours of free advice and guidance

David Cameron recently pledged to make this the most entrepreneurial decade in UK history by making the conditions more favourable for small companies and cutting down on red tape. If you have a great idea for business, now is a great time to consider making it reality.

With that in mind, the Supper Club a group of the country’s most innovative, fast growth and successful entrepreneurs, has pledged more than 1,300 free hours of mentoring time to support tomorrow’s entrepreneurial success stories.

Nearly 100 applications from fledgling entrepreneurs for mentoring were made in the first week alone and have all been matched to mentors.

The original pledge by The Supper Club’s founder, Duncan Cheatle, of 1000 hours of mentoring was made as part of his and the Club’s contribution to StartUp Britain (launched by the prime Minister, Chancellor and Secretary of State last week) of which Cheatle was one of the founders.

The Supper Club is part of the Prelude Group, whose mission statement is to ‘make Britain the most enterprising nation in the world’.

Case study:

COO of Ten Group, Andrew Long, has pledged 10 hours of mentoring to James Chetter, Managing Director of Vigour Heat, a new company that deals in the installation of renewable heating technologies.

Andrew commented: “I am delighted to be supporting The Supper Club and StartUp Britain in such a valuable way. I have been lucky enough to have had access to a number of top quality mentors over my time in business and it really does make the world of difference. I now hope I can give something useful back.”

“If we can all give back and help other people learn from our mistakes then it will mean this country will become more enterprising and everyone will win.”
